1. I was there aged 15. There was a power cut and a fight in the mosh pit. Great set though.

   • Heya..i went too , dragging my sister along cos it meant I would get a lift back home afterwards.

     Up to that point I just owned a couple of their 12inch eps but at the time they had a unique sound and stood out.

     Yep there was a big kick off during the gig caused by Leeds football firm

2. I’d missed their gig at The Duchess earlier in the year cos I’d played a gig myself so I was determined to see them at this one. My sister knew them a bit and also knew Dave Gedge from The Wedding Present and had mentioned it to him so he was there. The band had done the first 2 EP’s and the Peel Session at this point. I was at the front drunkenly bopping away when for some reason I decided to remove my belt which had been annoying me and throw it in the general direction of the stage where I could get it later. Instead of that it looped around the neck of Mark Gardener’s Fender Jag causing him to stop playing, throwing him off completely. After the gig I went back stage to retrieve my belt and the band handed it to me. Loz told me they were going to be recording an album soon and had only got a few days off in the rest of the year.
